Guest guest
> Does any one out there know how I can gain of weight? I use to > weight 301 lbs. , but I found out that I was diabetic I lost 175 lbs. > and now I can not get any of it back know matter what I do. > WOW in how long did you loose this?? I would suggest weight lifting to add some size and also look around the health food store there are some supplements to take. Also there is Ensure Plus which is for adding weight in those who cant eat, but its still full of vitamins and nourishing.
Guest guest
> efore supper they could be at 325 and after I take my humalog and lantis > before I go to bed, the next morning they will read at 48 or a little more. > 48!! That is dangerously low. i hope that was a typo, cause if your numbers are that low your lucky to wake up. I would suggest going to a diabetes class, and reading up on the subject. Also if your doctor is not working for you try an endo or a different GP that is more helpful. You might ought to keep track of what you eat and when you eat it, and what your sugars are on notecards and take that to the doctor with you so they can help you more. I did that and it really helped my doctor to get things under control for me. Also until things are more under control, i would suggest taking your sugars MANY times a day, before you eat and then 2 hours post meal until you get an idea on what your body is doing. Carmen > Also getting your sugars under control would help the weight issue. Are you throwing up at all, peeing a lot or unusally thirsty, I would be worried about diabetic ketoacidosis if you are having such sugar and weight problems. Guest guest
Don, I find in very sad that it took 5 Dr.'s before anyone realized it was Diabetes. The symptoms you mentioned are all common symptoms of this illness. There is no doubt, it is time to see an Endocrinologist. Good luck in finding out to put on weight. Vicki From: don roberts I lost the bigggest amount in 1986, that is when i lost 120 lbs in about 4 months and that is when I became a diabetic. I was drinking about 5 gals of water aday. and no one was willing to help me until 1992. I went through 5 doctors in one year before I found that was willing to help. Now I am at the point to wher I have to get another doctor , a specialist, I think . Thanks for the adfvice on how to put some weight on.
