Guest guest
well...as i'm learning...it takes a lot of trial and error, adjusting, and time. it's taken me one month since the institution of my latest regimen to maybe think i've found the pattern. the first few weeks i was trending high in the morning and late evening. then i made some adjustments to my routine and i was high around lunch...every other day...argh!! hehe. but that's actually an improvement. my first quarter, it took me the whole three months to feel i was getting a sense of the patterns and variables. anyways, that day you dropped low...what had you been doing before that? even going back several hours? i find it amazing how long some things take to kick in or how long the effects of some activity, that seems like nothing, can last. and then i think, for women esp., there's a hormone factor. and that's not a once-a-month thing either, because there are several stages to the whole biological cycle. oh, have to ask another question about the diet plan. i'm dim. is that 30 g of carb for three meals and then another 30 g of carb as fiber... or is it 30 g of that 90 total...? rach > It's billijo the untypical type II....anorexic and finally a healthy weight!!! This is all new to me, only the last few weeks with one week of bs testing and on no meds. During my first meeting with my diabetic educator I was put on a low cal diet 30 grams of carbs for each of my three meals, 30 grams fiber 10 of it soluble per day and deck of card size of meat for protien. Plus 2 snacks a day. I think this is what she wanted! INstead of putting the diet with all the items in one place they are scattered through 2 food plans. Actually she has me confused and when I meet with her next week this will be fixed or I will go to someone else. > > I'm following the above to a tee. Guest guest
Hey Billijo, 60 to 70 is more than a bit hypo. I have had acute reactive hypoglycemia all my life. Welcome to the rollercoaster express. It is not fun and can become dangerous-especially behind the wheel of a car. You may find that you might have to eat more meals with smaller portions-up to six per day. You may also find that even when you follow everything suggested, it won't always work. My endocrinologist says they really don't know why it happens sometimes. Watch the stress levels-I know, for me, they can send me off to the ozone in a matter of seconds. Other than that, keep a close watch on yourself and see if your body is maintaining any type of schedule with your lows and highs. Keep a record if you can-include what you eat. It may help down the road. It may also help you stay on the road! Guest guest
Hi BilliJo, Don't know if this might help or notbut I was wondering if you are on any medicine for Diabetes...I ask you this because when I was first diagnosed with this disease the doctor put me on a med called Glucovance and for 4 months I kept bottoming out... the last time this happened my sugar dropped to 45 and my chest hurt terribly, was rushed to the hospital (while in the ambulance they did a EKG which was abnormal and then gave me Nitro) once in the ER they did another EKG which also was abnormal and followed with more Nitro...which did nothing, they finally put me on a Nitro drip which leveled me out, they then put me in ICU and transfered me another hospital in another state in which the did a Heart Catheterastion and found nothing wrong with my heart(Thank God).. they changed my meds and I have'nt had one problem. Like I said I don't know if this helps but it's always good to talk with your doctor before something crazy happens. God Bless, Vicki N. > It's billijo the untypical type II....anorexic and finally a healthy weight!!! This is all new to me, only the last few weeks with one week of bs testing and on no meds. Guest guest
It is 30 grams of fiber out of my total 90 grams of carbs for the day spread out in 3 meals with 30 grams each. And the important thing about the fiber is 10 grams of it has to be soluble fiber. I am thinking maybe more meals like 5-6 a day would be better. Oh well I see her next week and I was a piggy with supper tonight had a tofu, asparagus, portabella mushrooms and yellow squash in a garlic and olive oil over linguine. I think I went a bit over the 30 carbs. billijo I will say 30 carbs a meal is hard. gee an english muffin (multigrain) is 28 carbs lol oh, have to ask another question about the diet plan. i'm dim. is that 30 g of carb for three meals and then another 30 g of carb as fiber... or is it 30 g of that 90 total...?
