My name is Ilene. I am a diabetic for 12 years now. Up until 6

months ago, I maintained my sugar by diet and exercise. Several

months after I stopped my estrogen, my sugar started going up. Not

real high, but enough to be concerned about. My doctors tell me it

had nothing to do with getting off my hormones, but I think

differently. Now I am on 3 medications a day to keep it where I

want. I still watch my diet regularly and exercise every day.

Is there anyone out there who has run into the same problem? If so,

please email me.

Thanks

Ilene, I do know that estrogens do effect your pancreas. I was on

trhem and it caused me alot of pain causing pancreatitis. I thought

that they made my sugar rise but I could be wrong, the damage just

may have gotten worse and I just needed more. Are you taking the same

medicine 3 times a day or 3 different kinds to control it?

I am taking 2 different kinds. I am doing better because my doctor lowered the 3

pills to 2. I just changed doctors and she doesn't think going off the estrogen

would raise my bs. It's too much of a coincidence for me.
