Guest guest
Hi, I have a new group for my deceased Dad's organization The American Society for Handicapped Physicians. A Type I Juvenile Diabetic, Spencer went completely blind from diabetic retinopathy after first graduating from Harvard Medical School, establishing his own practice in Louisiana with his wife, a midwife, and doing good thorughout his home community. His blindness led him to found this organization, The American Society for Handicapped Physicians, in 1981, only one year before his death. In that short time, he mentored, spread awareness throughout the communities, was active with the National Federation of the Blind, and even had a convention with former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Coop!!! The current president is Dr. Lambert, a paraplegic. It was founded in 1981 for physicians and medical students with any physical or mental limitations whatsoever. We encourage, promote, and support all physicians with any handicaps!... We provide support, aid and mentorship to all handicapped phsicians, medical students, residents and any child who has aspirations to become a doctor! Anyone can do ANYTHING they set their mind to, no matter the odds!!! Our members have proven this time and time again, practicing medicine blind, in wheelchairs, and deaf. Please check it out and support this important group!!! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AmericanSocietyforHandicappedPhy sicians/ Thanks so much, Judith http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AmericanSocietyforHandicappedPhy sicians/
