Good tips and I want to add one to those of us who live in hurrican

land. We need to be prepared to loose our utilities at any time.

Hurrican season has just started here so it is my time to mine the

depts of the freezer. I empty and clean the freezer, (so it at least

gets done once per year). I save gallon containers, usually milk

containers, rinse them out good, fill with water and a splash of

bleach. Then when I have the freezer clean I refill those jugs with

water and lay them on the bottom of the freezer. In this it is very

important to leave space for expansion. Then I refill the freezer in

some order as by this time order has long been gone.

If we loose the utilities for a few days the freezer has a much

better chance for staying cold. And if worst comes to worst I have

water. I put a couple jugs on the top so that I can make one quick

grab and get them to use the water. I also try to put one jug in the

freezer of the refridgerator.
