Guest guest
Hi, Something strange has been happening with my blood sugar lately, and I thought I'd get your input. Maybe something similar has happened to some of you! Last night when I came back from exercising, my BGL was about 117. About normal for me. Then I went out to dinner and had this really high-carb meal - French toast with syrup, eggs, and a few hash brown potatoes. And this I didn't take my Glucophage until I got home. I thought I'd pay for that, but when I got home, an hour later, it was only about 165! Thos morning, I woke up and it was 142 (that's about right for me, too). I did a little housework, lifting, vacuuming, moving boxes, etc., and took my BGL. It was 170 and I hadn't even eaten anything yet! Then I ate some eggs, a few more bites of hash browns, tea, and a piece of toast, and an hour later my BGL was 240! I'm just wondering did last night's excercise keep my BGL from going up when I ate that awful supper? And also, why would it be so high in the morning, and even worse a couple hours later, still fasting? Thanks very much. I enjoy this group and all the things I have learned from it so far. Guest guest
Your liver was probably overdosing and over-producing glucose from that meal----it has happened to me---when I load up with complex carbs, I won't pay for it immediately, but 6-8 hours later, watch out.... [alldiabeticinternational] What happened here? Hi, Something strange has been happening with my blood sugar lately, and I thought I'd get your input. Guest guest
i had a day like that today. i've been struggling with an ever changing regimen. all last week my numbers were running high. then last night, i took my bedtime shot, had a snack, and just did a little housework. was woken up at 5:00 AM by a 57 low. had 20 carbs, then a 48 carb breakfast with insulin. two hours after breakfast...275!! then did a lazy mall crawl, and ran low-ish all afternoon. it's nuts! i find the slightest little activity really increases my insulin sensitivity in the most unpredictable of ways. rach > Hi, > > Something strange has been happening with my blood sugar lately, and I thought I'd get your input.
