Hi Chelle, sounds like you have your hands full. I have a disabled husband

(broken back) so I have an idea of where you are coming from. I don't really

know of any tricks to determine a problem coming, but with diabetes, you have

an excellent guide. Your test kit. Carry it with you, along with glucose

tablets. They make it possible to treat quickly. Is Darrick on any meds? If

he

is on Glyburide, I can see how he would change rapidly. It was my first med

and it was very difficult to live with. I also reccomend you and he both carry

a medical information sheet with all his problems, medications (strength's

and how taken are important) your doctors numbers, an emergency contact number

for you and for another responsible party if you cannot be reached. This sheet

has been a lifesaver many times when I have had to call an ambulance. I just

print several at a time, keeping one in my purse always, one in his wallet

(even though he is never out without me) one for EACH doctor he sees ~ reissued

every time there is any change. Each doctor and our pharmacist keeps a copy

for referral to.

Chelle, that is just what my heart made me send, don't know why. Please do

it, usually when I get a message, I need to act on it, so I do. Happy to have

you here, sorry he is doing the diabetic thing, too, sounds like your hands

are full. I am here if you need to talk. Hugs, Marilyn

Marilyn,

When I went to the Self Management Classes they gave us a sheet, actually a

card that holds a lot of the info you would need if anything happened to you

including meds, doctor, etc. The only problem with it is when I got home

and showed it to my wife she laughed, as I did when I first saw it. It

starts out and says:

I have

Diabetes

If you see me acting strange or .................

When I looked at it I told the nurse in the class exactly what my wife would

say:

We've been married 36 years and you've always acted strange!
