Guest guest
My meter (Medisense optium) also measures blood ketones. I keep a small pack of urine glucose strips in case I run into trouble with the meter. I did a few months ago when I packed my bag too tightly and broke the LCD display... The manufacturers are great - sending a replacement out by express post, but I really could not do with it for that amount of time. So in the cupboard at home I have a small pack of urine test strips, and a spare insulin pen - that way I am covered against equipment breakdowns.. Regarding being 'proactive', its not just about Diabetes but life in general. Go out and MAKE things happen rather than wait for them to happen to you. I think a sportswear company has a slogan 'life is not a spectator sport'. . > What are the urine strips for?? > > sharon
