Guest guest
GREETINGS -- I am an insulin-dependent Type II Diabetic diagnosed in 1994. Currently using Lantus and Humalog. Diabetes complications include neuropathy (starting to recede), Charcot Arthropathy (deformed foot), gastroparesis (reversed for now), weight gain (a max of 288 pounds and 6' 5 " tall), etc.. I discovered Dr. Bernstein in 1/03 and have used his book as guide ever since. Normalized my insulin, decreased carb intake to 10% of calories, normalized blood sugars (100 mg/dL). I have also been on Hypertension meds since 1987 having had a silent heart attack and am also a supplement junkie. I am a retired Civil Engineer who now lives mostly in a travel trailer and follow the sun. I am told I know a little about a lot of things and not much about anything. My view about managing diabetes is to BE PROACTIVE. wambo1941

Guest guest
GREETINGS -- Gastroparesis is one of the offshoots of Auotonomic Neuropathy -- associated with the Vagus nerve. Like most things associated with diabetic neuropathy the first step was to normalize my blood sugars (i.e., getting your blood sugars as close to normal as posible). I did this by limiting the carbohydrates I consumed (a la Dr. Bernstein) and normalizing my insulin dosages (Lantus and Humalog). Once that was accomplished I started a regimen of dietary supplements which I will contiue for the foreseeable future. I believe that so long as I keep my average daily blood sugars below 120 mg/dL I will continue to make progress. wambo1941 > Wambo, > How did you reverse your gastroparesis? > Gail > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > >gastroparesis (reversed for now),
