as a very overweight diabetic who is really going to lose w eight I

have to shudder at the c alories in german short ribs, some 800, and

most of it fat? Not what my doctor has prescribed. Maybe some one who

is a really good cook could do a make over of this recipe and make it

more compatible for us imperfect overweight diabetics who are on low

fat diets. The recipe did sound really delicious but not worth dying

for.

Hi, point made. I really believe all recipes need to stand up to each

individuals dietary need. I have 3 sons in their 30's who could use recipe this

every day and not suffer weight gain. They are healthy and strong and do

physical

labor each day. I, do not. It is a good thing (IMHO) to have recipes that

others will enjoy, yet have a very good idea of how much (or little) we would

eat, if it were served to us. Myself, short ribs may sound lovely, they are

just not for me. As I have directed you in my last post, there are many

wonderful recipes out there, we just need to check them out before we cook/eat

them.

;-) Hugs, Marilyn
