Hi everyone, My name is Tina and I have had type 2 diabetes for 4 1/2

years now. I was told I was prediabetic when I was in my late 20's

but didn't become one until I was in my mid 40's. Now they would put

you on a diabetic diet to help prevent the dis-ease, but back then

they didn't know what they know now. I remember feeling as if

someone had given me a death sentance. It took 2 years for that

feeling to fade. Still to this day, I feel like it's such a personal

thing, when something doesn't work, I feel like it's MY FAULT. I

started on Glucophage, and since my HA1C was at 12% at the time of

diagnosis I think, I was put on 2000 mg a day within a couple of

months to get good glucose readings. 3 Years later, it wasn't enough

anymore and the Dr. put me on Gylburide also. I had such awful low

blood sugar attacks, and a very uncompassionate boss, I was always in

trouble for having to go eat something before my scheduled breaktime,

or I'd be on the floor with someone ready to call 911. A month ago

my Dr. took me off the glyburide and had me do readings on my glucose

levels around the clock for 3 weeks to see just what my body was

doing. He just put me on Avandia and I am not doing well with it.

Tired, headache, nausea, dry mouth. So, I had to stop taking that,

and the next step is possibly insylin. I am scared, but resigned to

the idea. The only other option was a pill you take after each meal,

and I am not sure if he's going to have me try that or not. I am

still waiting for him to call me after leaving him a message over the

weekend.

I would love any crock pot recipies anyone has to share. I work 40

hours a week as a photo developer for a drug store chain, and I am a

member of the Bear Tribe.

Thanks for the invitation to this group. Having support is so

healing, and only another diabetic understands what we are going

though sometimes. Bless each and everyone of you,
