Jerry--Welcome to group. Wit aside, I used Dr. Mark Breiner in Connecticut to

remove my amalgams in the early nineties and used the oral Hal Huggins

protocol. I used DMPS IV, ten over a month or two, and now am trying to

chelate with low dose ALA and DMSA. I have CFS and MCS. I was diagnosed with

Neurally Mediated Hypotension at s Hopkins. This seemed to follow the

first placement of fillings (over ten) at age 19.

There is a Dr. Sprinkle in my area (now Texas due to family work situation)

whom I plan to vist for cleaning, etc.

Ok, what is the best protocol for a large surface cavity in a 3 year old? It

is on the back of one of her front teeth and the tooth is getting thin. I

refused flouride gel last year and the cavity has gotten noticably worse.

I have been on it for 4 months

Improvements are gradual as well

Sometimes you don't know if it is helping or not

My recovery from fatigue seems better, my brain fog is down

Cheers

(unknown)

I was wondering if anyone out there has every gotten better from

mercury poisoning without the use of medications like DSMP or DMSA.

I have been really sick for a while now. I finally figured out what

was killing me - my fillings. After I had them removed, I started on

Garlic, etc. I am feeling better now, but the process seems too slow.

I'm not sure if what I'm doing is safe.

Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim Kelley.

I improved immensly after the dead teeth were removed and the cavitations

cleaned but I still had problems on the left side with constrictions in the

cold weather.

I took some cilantro to get the mercury out of my brain and dumped a huge

amount so now I am back where I started until I can get this out of my head

and body and I am working on it but it will take a long time to get it out.

It is a long process but I have heard of people that have recovered

completely.

Hi Cindy,

You sure sound mercury toxic to me but I'm only a little old mom who has done

3-4 hours of research every day for almost 4 yrs.Why not start by taking Alpha

lipoic Acid acid and lts of anti-oxidants, zinc etc.,you know the dan. However I

would do the protocol based on Andy Cutler's format which is evry 3 hours for 3

days on 11 days off. Make sure you use 1/8-1/2 mg per lb of your body

weight(ex:200 lbs would use 100mgs every 3 hours)

Hi Jim,

One of the biggest challenges is getting help. Although I was lucky to

find an integrative doctor, he doesn't really know a lot about

chelation. My opinion is to read " Amalgam Illness " and talk to people on

this list and read the links that Moria posts from time to time--about

dose schedule and how to by chelation products. Above all, make sure the

mercury in your mouth is gone before you begin anything. Then perhaps

start with either a low dose of either DMSA or DMPS (You can get DMSA

without a prescription) and follow a round the clock dose schedule. I

don't think you can hurt yourself if you start with a low dose. And then

you can add alpha lipoic acid later (or now, if your amalgam has been

gone for three or four months).

I have a very sensitive system and was confused by all the reading I had

done and was afraid to start. I don't really have the luxury of a doctor

who is taking me through this, although my doctor knows what I'm doing

and gave me a prescription of DMPS. But if you start at a low dose and

see what kind of symptoms you get--if they're too hard to take, like

depression, fatigue, things like that--you can always lower the dose.

Just make sure to follow Andy's dose schedule and you probably won't

have a problem.

If you still have your fillings, I can't point you to some good sources

for having them removed safely.

Now, since you have the book, it is possible that you are too sick to read

it. I was in that condition when I first received the book. You will notice

that in the Cutler book there are substances with lines drawn through them,

crossing them OUT. EDTA is one of the things crossed out in the Cutler book.

DO NOT USE IT. Do not allow any doctor to tell you it will help. It won't. It

will deplete your already depleted minerals and probably make you worse, not

better. Money should be spent on things that will make you better in the

short and long term. I will mention some of those things.

Years ago before I knew what was wrong with me I took a quarter of an IV bag

of EDTA and it made me so sick that I laid on the couch for four straight

days because I was to weak to lift my head, arms or body. I would never

line drawn through it, meaning not to use it as a medication.

Mercury toxicity is probably very common, but the illness is diagnosed a

number of ways by a number of specialists. Ignore doctors who do not fit into

your idea of a doctor/patient relationship. You will need to make a number of

medical decisions, without a doctor because the ADA has been lobbying " for "

the safety of mercury similar to other lobbying groups that desire unsafe

products to continue to be on the market. The following is how to begin

treatment without a doctor:

First you have to have all your fillings removed and replaced by a dentist.

If you cannot find one in Canada drive to the US and have that done. All root

canal tips may have mercury in them. Also you have to have your crowns pulled

off to have a dentist visualize if there is mercury under the crowns. Then

and only then, when you are 100% sure the mercury is out of your mouth, you

can wait four days and begin taking DMSA. After getting the fillings out you

might get an IV of vitamin C, or not. You do not need a doctor in Canada to

help you with this treatment. I believe that four days after you have the

fillings out you can begin DMSA, which can be ordered online from several

places. I ordered it and other stuff mentioned in the Cutler book

(supplements) from Vitamin Research Products. Online the company can be found

at www.vrp.com, or mail@... or 1-. You may elect to order a

catalog. In it you will find DMSA (dimercapto succinic acid, 100 mg), 45 caps

for $39.95. You do not need a prescription for this substance although

doctors do write prescriptions for them that can be filled at a pharmacy in

the U.S. According to the Cutler book, use the DMSA for 90 days or whatever

the book says. The DMSA might cause your symptoms to flair and you might want

to cut the doses somewhat.

Does anyone know of a place that specializes in

> Mercury Poisoning? There seems to be a lot of hype on the internet, but

>

This site is the most helpful place in the country to receive the help you

need. I have improved substantially using this protocol, moving from lying on

the couch fairly hopeless that I could improve, to working outdoors, cooking

and cleaning and doing many things I simply could not do previous to the

removal of fillings and the very faithful following of the Cutler protocol. I

do have a doctor, but one does not need one to chelate. The Cutler book

provides you with what you need. Continue to read the book if you are able to

do that and go to page 67 in the Cutler book, upper left " What if you can't

get medical help " and begin purchasing the supplements and use them at the

recommended doses. Buy a weekly " pill minder " and count the supplements out

into the boxes as it says in the book. If you cannot do that, have someone

help you.

If you feel that you sensitize to stuff readily, rotate the supplements,

using a large monthly calendar, taking about three times the recommended dose

on the bottle every four days. That will probably keep you from sensitizing

to the vitamins, etc. Mercury quickly depletes your body of the substances

mentioned on page 67 upper left, so taking a little more of them than the

bottle says, makes quite a bit of sense. Sensitizing to supplements is a

possibility in rare cases.

After you have taken the DMSA orally for about 90+ days, or however long the

book says, you may begin to chelate with Alpha Lipoic Acid, alone or with

DMPS (DMPS costs about $5 per capsule and you WILL need a doctor to write

script for that unless it could possibly be sold over the counter in Canada).

Take the ALA in " rounds " not continuously. The rounds should be as described

in the book, beginning with about 10 mg. of ALA every three hours, every 4 at

night for about two to three straight days ON and about the same or longer

OFF. If you become symptomatic while chelating, report to this internet group

for suggestions. Some are: reduce the dose, stop chelating and wait, take

Forskolin, check for copper toxicity and others. After you have chelated for

a while, you will think you are feeling " nuts. " Consider that a good sign. It

means you are chelating mercury from your brain with ALA the only substance

that has two sulphydryl molecules and removes mercury from the brain. If you

have many other symptoms, try to treat them as they arise. The book provides

alot of advice. These two steps can be taken, the DMSA and the ALA-- without

a doctor. You will need to see a dentist to remove the fillings if you have

them. DO not CHELATE WITH ANY SUBSTANCE WITHOUT REMOVING FILLINGS.

>

>

This group is extremely helpful. I think it would help if you would write a

brief history of your illness. If you are not ill, then you would probably be

in the category of people who can live with mercury in their bodies and not

become devastatingly ill from it. I do believe that anyone with mercury

amalgam fillings ought to have them removed and chelate with Alpha Lipoic

Acid. One has a future to concern oneself with and mercury may be implicated

in diseases we associate with aging. That is a guess. However, mercury has

been found in diseased patients post mortem, in organs such as the brain if I

correctly recall that.

Following the advice on page 67 in the upper left hand corner will help you

to feel better, however, I would advice anyone to begin these supplements

slowly, particularly if one is chemically sensitive, perhaps one a day until

one is sure they are not reacting adversely to the supplements.

I have used ALA by several companies and have had no problem with it. There

are several online companies to buy supplements from. Supplements made by

Twinlab are often good and cheap. At times one must go to lef.org to buy

Forskolin, which mitigates some mercury symptoms. Forskolin can be bought at

Needs, as well.

Obviously a timer should be used while taking ALA.

One needs money to do some of the recommendations in the Cutler book. In

order to limit the expense of supplements, the ones listed where I have

pointed out, seem to be the ones most crucial during chelation. The objective

is to chelate, but to feel better while doing so.

Finally, I would look in the index of the book and severely limit or remove

food from the diet that are in the " thiols " or sulfur category. This would

include coffee and many green leafy vegetables, broccoli and others listed.

These pull mercury from the tissue and make you feel worse, because they pull

mercury out, but do not remove it from the body. Getting off sulfur foods is

very good advice and is also described in the book. Finding a few foods that

do not bother you and are not sulfur foods is the best course of action.

Remember that spices contain alot of sulfur and these ought to be eliminated

too. Someone else step in here if I have misquoted or stated anything

incorrectly, particularly the best amount of time spent on DMSA. Best of

luck. SJ

to cut the doses somewhat.

>

>

>

Best of

luck. SJ

Welcome Meir,

I know many people in this group would benefit from hearing about your

experience. Could you please share with us who performed your surgery. How

do you feel about the experience and the results? I would love to hear about

it. Thank you for being open to questions.

Wendi,

I don't have any advice on this one. eats whatever I put in front of him and Ashely is almost 2, and she eats pretty much everything too. knows that I won't give him anything with nuts, dairy, or soy. So, if I give him something new, he asks if it has dairy and soy in it. He thinks that he can't have nuts because they have dairy and soy in them. He is almost 4 and we are trying to let him know just the opposite, but for now it works. That is tough that she is thinking there are peanuts in everything. It is scarry. I wish you the best in this situation. The allergist might be able to reasure her. :-)

I always swore my child wouldn't be one of those kids that would only eat a few things and not try anything new! Well my little angel has become a very picky eater. keeps telling me that everything has peanuts. I try to reassure her that I would never give her peanuts. I am guessing that she is trying to test my boundaries on EVERYTHING at this time. Must be a 4-year old thing! LOLI am just wondering how everyone else dealt with this when it came up for them.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.WendiP.S. We have an appointment with the allergist in a few weeks to address the issue of telling me that kids touch her with PB & J sandwiches, when it is not true. Maybe the allergist can help with this one also. Argh! I feel like I am totally losing it sometimes. Why - Oh - Why do these things have to come up during my cycle? LOL

Hi Josii, I soooo understand! I like thicker as well, and have discovered

(thanks protein pervs) that if I dump my ProBlend 55 vanilla (one scoop) in

the blender with about 4 ice cubes and a splash of coffee made my preferred

way, then blend till the ice has stopped clanging against the glass, it

makes a heavenly thick coffee protein frozen latte. I even make extra

coffee in the morning to put in the fridge and use with my shakes. I also am

a coffee person. I even have coffee ice cubes in the freezer…OH…and choc

protein shakes made with coffee and ice….and and and….

I DO hope no one takes offense, but recently a bit of Lost Scripture has

come to light, and I wanted to share it with you! ~On the eighth day

God/dess created coffee, and found that it was Good.~

Try whirring your shakes with ice rather than plain water. Blessings! Jeanne

I had surgery two months ago and have been getting the 75 grams

of protein that is required daily, from ISO Pure Dutch Chocolate,

which is starting to taste really yukky to me lately. I guess my

taste are changing. As far as protein goes, I've always heard that

our bodies can only use 30 grams of protein at one time???? One

serving of my protein drink provides 50 grams of protein...Does this

mean I'm wasting the other 20 grams of protein?

I'm not into strenuous training or anything like that. I just do my

daily walking.

I WOULD VERY MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR VIEWS ON THIS?????????????????

ALSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....I CONTINUE WASTING MONEY ON PROTEIN DRINKS

LOOKING TO FIND ONE THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL SICK...ANY ADVICE YOU

MAY HAVE WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. I do like the thicker type drink and

absolutely love coffee flavored anything.

Thanks a bunch and have a great day!

Renea-

Ebay will be your best bet. They used to make those dolls that came with

a potty that flushed and everything but I haven't been able to find one in

the store. If you find one and it works- please think of me if you ever want

to sell it!

pants that wets. Does anyone have one or know where I can get one?

Thanks in advance,

Rosie,

Forgive yourself as we are all human and this will happen from time to time. Just try to stay at the low end of your points and drink extra water. That should help.

Roxie

But I am really scared that these past 3 days may have added a pound or two! But if I'm perfect plus excercise for the next 4 days I hope I at least maintain!Rockin ROSIE

I think it's good to have small goals elissa, doesn't

seem so overwhelming that way.

I do small goals even though I don't have as much to

lose....right now I'm just looking for 150...(course

then I'll have to change my points....)....but that's

my first goal...then 145, 140 etc....

With each 5-10 pounds I find something in my 'old'

warddrobe to wear again...so it's fun to wear it a few

time before leaving it behind!

Really? That low? I know eggplant's free, but the other ingredients...

Also, they don't list the nutritional info and they do tend to do so

for their lower calorie items.

It certainly would be an excellent dish for at home, though, with

low-fat cheeses and sauce!.... If you baked the breaded eggplant

rather than frying it. I think we've got a winner!
