Guest guest
I have searched through about 4000 emails on this board and have found some interesting information about myomectomy but have a few more questions... First of all, I'll explain that I am 33, no kids and I've had heavy non-stop periods for many years do to multiple small fibroids in the walls of my uterus. My doctor tells me that the largest of them is just shy of 2cm but the person who did the internal sonogram said I had 'rocky roads'. Not a nice way to explain the uterus. I am wondering how bad I will feel immediately following surgery. The doctor expects mine to last at least 2.5 - 3 hours. Will I be able to shower right away? Will I be able to walk unassisted? When will I start to feel better to where I can enjoy my 6 weeks off of work? :-) I also read a thread from 1999 on this board that talks about transfusions. My doctor did not expect me to need one and since I'm anemic, she did not want me to donate blood. She said she has never had to convert to a hysterectomy, so I feel like I'm in good hands. Any other information that you would like to give me would be great. Thanks!
