What I meant to say... was.... the 11.6 reading is the concentration of hemoglobin in ONE DECILITER--that is, ONE TENTH of a liter (i.e., 100 ml.) of whole blood, and NOT ONE LITER, as I mistakenly wrote in my previous post. Sorry 'bout that misplaced decimal point. Changes everything--- 11.6 in a LITER of blood would give her a hemoglobin of 1.6. Sheeeez!
