Guest guest Posted February 17, 2004 Report Share Posted February 17, 2004 Hi everyone, I am new to this group thing, and i am pretty grateful to be able to chat to pp who have similar problems to mine. I have known for a couple of years that i had a couple of fibroids, and i have also been trying for six years to have a baby but have not been successful. I only just found that some my intramural fibroids are 5x5 cm (which is supposed to be quite large). The doctor was not able to find all of them during a scan but he reckons there is one at the back of my womb which is the cause of a lot of lower back pain. Anyway I have been told a myo is the best option, and the doctor has decided to put me on zolerdex injection for 3 months straight away (which will shrink the fibroids and minimise blood loss.) after which surgery will take place. However he has told me he cant guarantee there wont be a hysterectomy or if this surgery will definitely help me to get pregnant. Has anyone taken this zolderex injection before as i know it has side effects and i guess i just need support cos i am going nuts worrying about whether i will still have a uterus after everything!
