Hello Carla & any others with insights--

Only slightly off-topic: Carla, I value your insights and approach to

our various fibroid-related issues very much. I have run across the

website of Ann Kent, who has written a book called " Saving

the Whole Woman -- Natural Alternatives to Surgery for Pelvic Organ

Prolapse and Urinary Incontinence. " Her website is

http://www.wholewoman.com, and a sample of her book is at

http://www.healingthepelvicfloor.com/sample.pdf

I am especially interested in comments and insights re: her analysis

of human bipedal/primate pelvic structure, which is in the pdf book

sample file (the second link above).

Why I say this is only slightly off-topic -- I've had a cystocele

(bladder prolapse) since childbirth 26 years ago, and the opinion of

several of my doctors has been that the extremely large fibroid I was

harboring exacerbated it. 2+ months post-surgery and it's too early

to tell if there's any effect (except that my urinary urgency is

TREMENDOUSLY improved).

Kent is a nurse and has a history which will resonate with many of

us -- had surgery 10 years ago to remove a fibroid and her doctor

incidentally, and without fully informing her of risks, did bladder

repair surgery which resulted in uterine prolapse. She claims to have

studied and discovered methods involving posture, lifestyle and diet

that improve prolapsed pelvic organs.

She shares some of the " emotional issue " analysis with

Northrup and others, which I do not agree with, and the preliminary

language in the book sample involves a lot of rejection of science,

which I also do not agree with -- but she then details a complex

analysis of pelvic organ structure which differs from the traditional

ob/gyn etc. framework. I would like to understand whether there is

anything to her analysis here.

Thanks for all comments.

Sunny
