I have heard that some women have needed to go in for more then one

UAE. What would be the cause for this. I thought this was a one shot

deal? I had a UAE done back in Nov.I am now 6 months post op and

doing fine except for occassional heavy bleeding which I had off and

on for about 5 of the last 6 months. I was concerned and

disappointed, but have chosen a wait and see approach. My fibroid

had shrunk to almost half it's size in about 3 months(16 week-

submucosal)I'm not sure how big it is now. Need to get my 6 month

ultra sound done and want more info before I see the Dr.again. he

had mentioned re-embolizing if it had not worked the first time.

Anyone out there have this done more then once ..? and why??

Thanks,

Stacey

The reason for a 2nd UFE. Rare, but sometimes happens. There is a

slight chance the fibroid may find a new blood supply. We all hope

this doesn't happen but there have been a few on the posts that have

had this. Also, sometimes both arterys were not embolized. If only

1 gets embolized and not the both, then they say it's a technical

failure.

Don't know why you are bleeding heavily. How did your procedure

go? Were there any problems like the ones I've mentioned? It

sounds like you've had great shrinkage results. How heavy is heavy

to you? How heavy were your periods preUFE as compared to now? Are

you bleeding inbetween periods? (breakthrough bleeding?)
