Guest guest
Joan, Healthpartners DID cover UAE no questions asked. I was hospitalized one night and sent home the next morning/early afternoon. I researched the UAE procedure thouroughly so I knew what to expect, so I wasn't very nervous either. My 1st UAE was done with an epideral, the 2nd one was done with conscious sedation. The procedure lasted abt 2 hrs, but you are not even conscious of the passing of time because of the sedation. Have you met with an IR? That would be the 1st step, to evaluate whether you are a suitable candidate for UAE. Usually the IR would order a pelvic MRI to see the fibroids, their location, etc. I am VERY glad I was able to avoid hysterectomy. Let me know if you have any other questions, I would be glad to try to help. -Elise, Coon Rapids.
