Guest guest
Well there must be a sever inequity regarding prisoner health care in California. Because, in Kings County where we have Corcoran and Avenal State Prison at emergency rooms prisoners have priority when it comes to emergency health care. Two years ago my 6 year old daughter smashed her finger in a car door about 4:30 Friday afternoon. I advised my husband that we should have it check out. We waited 2 hours in the emergency waiting room and in walks a drunk having to be checked out before being booked at the county jail. Then the toper was when a Corcoran state prisoner entered on a wheel chair, and went directly into the radiaoloy department. When my husband asked why this thing went in front of EVERYONE, he was told they have priority. Mind you this is the maternity hospital in the county. After the two hour wait I was so pissed my husband had to take over, and I went out side to move my car and cool off. Fortunately my friends were driving by and saw us. Her husband is a large animal vet and requested to see her finger. I walked him back to the exam room, he looked at her finger and said if it was broken they couldn't do any thing any way and told us to leave. We got up walked out with saying anything. I took her to her pediatrician the next Monday, and after ex-rays sure enough it was broken. Incidently in the past 8 years the State of California has invested over $8,000,000 building a prison hospital at Corcoran State Prison. Nurses make over $100,000 a year. It is staffed with doctors, and RN's. Where is the equity? PS Manson, Surhan Surhan, Carona, and reprsentatives of all major gangs that have ever existed in California are residents.
