Hi,

Naproxen is NOT a muscle relaxant.

Naproxen is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

(NSAIDs).•

Naproxen works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the

body. Naproxen is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by

many conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, ankylosing

spondylitis, injury, abdominal cramps associated with menstruation, tendinitis,

and bursitis.

Protect your stomach when using this drug.

This drug helped me with pain concerning my fibroid but it doesn't help

everyone. I only took it during my period because it tore up my stomach. It

might help some of the women here recently talking about their cramps. They can

ask their doctor.

I too have had terrible cramps since I got my period upteen years ago - I'm 37

now. I have great drugs - Naproxen - which is a muscle relaxant - they work

wonders! I have 2-7cm intramural fibroids as well as some smaller ones & am

scheduled for a myo on 05/17 - we'll have to compare notes!

Naproxen works for cramps - yes, you must take it with food or milk but there

are big stickers when you pick up your prescription that tells you to take it

with food or milk. When taken properly, one shouldn't have stomach problems. It

works for me - I've been taking it for years & have had no stomach problems.

Ditto! It has been a life saver for me. I take it right before my

period starts. I only need about 2 or 3 per cycle.
