Did you ask to see your fibroid after removal?

I am having a myo on Thursday. I have a orange/grapefruit sized

fibroid on the outside of my uterus that adhered itself to my bowel &

completely obstructed it last year when I was 8 months pregnant (I

never knew I had a fibroid until I was pregnant). My daughter was

delivered via emergency c-section, but the fibroid was too big at

that time to be removed (risk of too much blood loss). I am having

it removed now so that we can (hopefully) have another baby - they

are afraid the same thing will happen again if it's not removed.

I mentioned to my Dr. that I am interested in seeing the fibroid

after it is removed (my husband & parents are curious, too). She

acted pretty shocked & like I was the only person ever who has asked

to see one. It's not like we want to take it home in a jar or

anything, just a quick peek at this 'thing' that's caused so many

problems.

I am just curious if anyone else has asked to see their fibroid &

what their Dr.'s reaction was.
