Guest guest
Lynn, where did you hear UFE causes sterilility? Thats ridiculous!!! There is a lot of biast articles out there!!!!! Here's the facts, if you are over 45, there could be more chance of early menapause, but unlikely. Not sure of %. If you are under 45 (I'm 43) you have a 1-5% chance of onset of early menapause. Anotherwords, very rare. I was so freaked out about this but I did have a period on time! I'm 5 weeks post. Check out the yahoo embo group. IT's been a phenominal support for me. Anyway, about your fibroid, yes, fibroids bleed. I'm not sure why, but it can distort the uterus and then the uterus can't contract properly during menstration, also, the subercosal fibriods they say are the bleeders, but my main one was an intramural fibroid that was /is 10cm. I bled like a syve! I had such awful hemmoraging incidents mostly at periods, but the last episode was breakthrough bleeding. It feels fantastic not to be bleeding anymore! D & C. won't do much for a fibroid if it's bleeding. But, if you had bleeding prior to a fibroid diagnosis, then maybe it could help. I am doing just great. I got a great recomendation on an IR here in CT through the embo group. I was very happy with my care and the hospital. I became very anemic going into the procedure and so my recovery was a little slower than most. It took me about 2 1/2 weeks. Most people are fine in 1 week. My stomach was messed up becuase of the antibiotic and meds and then I became dehydrated!! But after all that, I bounced back and felt back to myself in no time. I've been on iron (65mb 3X a day) and am awaiting blood count results. Hopefully they've gone up. Take care, you can email me privately if you'd like jenficks@...
