What about those kind of virtual colonoscopies? Do you have access to one in

your city or state?!

This would give you an initial idea if that's the problem and not have you in

any pain!

Poor you!! How long have you been in meno? Absolutely, fibroids

can cause constapation!!! This is one of the major bulk symtoms!!

This has happened to me also. I had UFE about 5 weeks ago and am

feeling much better but we'll see. I am not bleeding anymore (that

was my main problem) but I was haveing to pee very often and I did

become constapapted!!! An MRI showed that the fibroid was located

middle rear of the uterus, sitting on my lower spine, bowel (colon?)

and crushing my bladder!!!!!! They say in time, the bulk symtoms

are relieved, shrinkage does not happen overnight. For now, my

anemia is gone, (I've been on iron for 5 weeks) and I don't have the

hemmoraging. I am having an annoying discharge that am told it is

dead fibroid tissue. It should pass in time also. Good luck, if I

were you, I'd get some tests run ultrasound to start. How big is

your fibroid? Jen

Hi Dawn

So sorry to hear about the difficulties you're having.

The " pooping " problem could be fibroid-related (and probably is) but

you really ought to have a colonoscopy, if you've never had one.

They're not bad at all. One other thing that can cause thin stools is

an overly-tight sphincter muscle. I know, because I was blaming my

problams on my fibroids- until I got a fissure from straining. Had

surgery to " loosen " the muscle and BM's have been normal since.

As far as how soon you can resume activities, it seems to be so

individual that I hate even estimating. I know it took me a long

time, but others in this group have recovered much faster. You will

almost certainly need someone to be with you or at least close-by for

the first week or so if possible.

Best of luck- keep us posted!

Mindy
