Guest guest
I've just read Janet Pike's message(number 9) to this digest number. I am two weeks before surgery with Dr. West. I am 50 years old and determined to keep my uterus. I have seven fibroids, the biggest of which is 12 cm. Dr. West assures me that he will have no problem doing a myo and in fact that is the only procedure he does. I feel very comfortable with him, but I am scared shitless. I am from Florida and am flying up because I think Dr. West is one of the very few who can perform a myo safely and willingly. I never had to convince him to do it. He has always been totally confident as well as being accessible on my anxiety days. The Doctors down here also only wanted to do a hysterectomy. I realize the reason is that they are not confident in doing a myo. I chose to go to New York based upon their lack of experience and belief in myomectomies. I will let you know how I progress. I have been exercising to be in the best shape possible. I go on the treadmill five days a week and work vigorously. Of course, this doesn't stop me from eating Hershey bars with almonds that I stash in the freezer. ne Jaffee
Guest guest
To MK00 There is info here but there is also a group on Yahoo called 'embo' where many women have had or are discussing the procedure in much detail. You might consider posting there as you will get a very broad range of info and stories. I had my UAE last year and things worked out great for me. Good luck in doing your research and getting the answers you'll need. Between this group and 'embo' you can be sure to get a great deal of help! best, laurie g.
