Dear LOL,

I have been " lurking " for a while and appreciate all

the info. I have obtained from reading all the posts.

I feel that I have made an informed decision to have a

myomectomy through the links, the posts and the

questions I have asked the gyno and the surgeon. All

of you have made an otherwise difficult task quite

simple. Roma, thanks again for your words of

encouragement! I feel very reassured and I have faith

that I will have a new lease on life when this surgery

is all said and done.

I have fibroids (no heavy bleeding, just debilitating

cramps) and possibly, some endometriosis and am

scheduled to have a myo 5/10/04 (pre-op is 5/3/04). I

was wondering how long recovery was. I know it varies

from person to person, but could any of you go back to

work before 6 weeks??? What about driving? Any

advice on speeding up the recovery process? Anything

I can do now to assure a speedy recovery?

What about diet? I've changed my eating habits

significantly since I found out about these nasty

things (about 4 years ago), i.e. no sugar, no refined

flour, lots of fruit & veggies, flax, aloe vera,

etc...I'm having a really hard time giving up animal

products, though. Anyway, do you think that if I eat

chicken noodle soup for a few days it would hurt me?

I'm worried about how long I have until more start

growing.

Well, now that I have proceeded to type a novel of

questions, I thank you for listening and look forward

to any words of wisdom.

Sincerely,
