Hi Dolly,

Wow, I haven't been on line and didn't see your message until today,

so you will be post-surgery, hopefully fibroid-free and on the way to

a speedy recovery by the time you get this!!

Yes, my abdomen was somewhat distended, but I don't think it was

typical of what I read about on this list. I am 48 years old and most

of us at this age have a bit of a belly, and that's all it was. I'm a

healthy weight, not overweight (not too skinny either). **I** was

very aware of the distortion and lumpiness which I could see clearly,

but otherwise I think it was probably only visible to hubby and ...

maybe ... my yoga teacher, when I had on leggings & t-shirt (somewhat

form-fitting) and did poses where the abdomen would be more visible,

if you know what I mean.

I had a 5-mo. preg. size uterus. My belly was IMMEDIATELY flatter

after surgery, this doesn't happen to most people since there is post-

surgery swelling that takes weeks to months to go down. I lost 8 lbs

in the first 10 days after surgery. I had lost my appetite entirely

during that period and ate because I knew I needed to in order to

recover, but otherwise I had little interest in food (this was

unheard of for me, I'm a food freak, it was actually kind of

disturbing at the time, as much as friends claimed to be jealous).

Once my appetite came back I gained back the weight I had lost real

quick, and now am back to my normal weight. My hubby says my tummy is

flatter though I can't see a BIG difference. But I FEEL a big

difference, I was always aware of that huge lump pressing somewhere

and that is gone.

The doc said you can't really judge your post-surgery belly until 6

months. I'm 4 months post-surgery now.

Best of luck to you, hope to hear how you're doing on the list.

Sunny

> I was just wondering with a fibroid your size, was your abdomen

distended and if it was, did it go away after the fibroid was removed
