Guest guest
Lola, First let me say I am sorry for your loss. I too had a still birth at 5 months due to my fibroids. I was also given the " go ahead and ttc " speech from two OB's. I ultimately went to a reproductive endocrinologist and have had the fibroids removed. I had 6 large ones all intramural and submucosal. I have since learned that these are the ones that cause the heavy bleeding, clots, and also distort the uterus. No doctors indicated to me that they could also lead to pre-term labor, specifically these types. You sound like you have a gut feeling already about getting rid of these fibroids. Despite what the doctor says, keep doing research on the best decision for YOU. Losing a baby is devastating, even if it is not planned. In my case it was, I still have not gotten over it and I don't think I ever will. It has been a little over 10 months now. I know for a fact that most RE's have more experience dealing with multiple fibroids that are considered difficult to remove by most OB's. Maybe you could get a second opinion from an RE in your area. If you happen to be near Chicago I have a name and number of one of the best. I hope for only the best for you and that you and your boyfriend have peace about what ever decision you make. Good luck,
