Hi Ladies,

I recently found out that I have 4 fibroids. The largest is 4.2

cm and the others are from 1 cm to 2cm. I have had a vaginal

ultrasound and a regular ultrasound. I had blood drawn to test my 3

hormone levels which all turned out fine. I took some medicine to

shed the lining of my uterus for them to do a hysterscope through the

vagina to look at the uterus to see if it were distorted. When I went

for my pre-surgery talk the week before the surgery was to be

scheduled they decided not to go ahead with the surgery. This is when

I drew blood. They also wanted a semen analysis done from my husband.

This has been done. I go back to the doctor on March 3 to discuss

the results. I feel like I am at a stand still. I want to have kids.

But I am not sure how my fibroids will effect me having kids. My

perioods are weird. I have a normal period. Then it stops anywhere

from 2 to 5 days and then I start bleeding again anywhere from 5 to 7

days. Out of 12 months this has happened at least 4 times. This is

why I went to the doctor in the first place. I have always had the

annual exam but no doctor ever told me I had fibroids. I don't know

what to do. If I have surgery the doctor is talking about doing a

laproscopy which can cut the fibroid off by electric current because

it is on a stalk. Can anyone offer any help? I live in the Hampton

Roads area of Virginia and because I am new here I don't really know

the reputations of the doctors? Help
