Hi everyone,

Well, I finally have surgery set for March 18. I go for preadmission

testing next thursday. I will be so happy to have it done and over

with.

My doctor is very experienced and very nice. He told me he has never

had to perform a hysterectomy while taking out a fibroid.(good news

there) He said he is pretty confident that the fibroid is what

caused my baby to be born so premature.

From what I got from him he said my fibroid is a mix. He said part

of it is Subserous, part is Intramural and he mentioned a third part

as well, but can't remember. He told me the reason he wants to do ab

surgery is because I am doing this to try and have another baby and

he wants to make sure he can stitch my uterus back up well enough to

hopefully hold a baby full term. He told me the fibroid is pretty

large and it's pushing into my lining of my uterus which when I was

pregnant pushed the baby down.

He was very helpful in eliminating all my fears. He kept telling me

I will do just fine. Nice to hear. He also told me that since I

have a fear of having a tube down my throat he will give me a spinal

like I had with my c-section and put me to sleep. Very happy about

that. Ever since I saw my mom in a coma with the tube down her

throat and then my daughter being born so early and being on a

ventilator for 7 weeks it's just freaked me out. I know it's silly,

but we all have our demons and thats one of mine.

Well thanks for listening and thanks for all your replies to my other

posts. They have made me feel so much better.

Pam
