Marsha:

Let’s see – 4 hours of housework – or 1 hour of walking – housework or

walking – hummmmm -- 4 hours or 1 hour -- which one do you suppose I’d

choose? Which one do you suppose almost ANYONE would choose?? -- -- WHO

WOULD choose the housework? -- I don’t happen to know that person . . .

OF COURSE those gynos didn’t even consider YARD WORK – only HOUSE WORK –

they were looking at WOMEN after all. Sexist pigs !! How many hours of

pruning trees, digging and weeding does it take? - how about HANDY PERSON

WORK? -- How many hours of pounding and sawing & scraping??? SAVE ME –

please ! This says a LOT about these gynos’ attitudes towards women as far

as I’m concerned. -- No wonder some of us have so much trouble

COMMUNICATING with these people. They’re on a different wave length

entirely. I'm talking about cleaning out the gutters & they think I mean

pouring Draino down the sink !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I too had to give up hiking (and backpacking) due to fibroids – entirely

different situation & my reason was that ANY sort of exercise brought on

massive bleeding. And, of course, anemia didn’t help either. In my case,

getting rid of one fibroid – vaginally – did the trick. However, knowing

what I do now – about how sick and disabled I really was – about how MUCH

BETTER I felt afterwards – about how fantastic it is to regain your old self

– knowing how great a long walk feels after a difficult day at the office –

how much hiking clears the garbage out of my head -- how great the outdoors

smells walking in the countryside – how wonderful a mountain lake looks when

you know that only hikers will ever get to see it -- I’d go for what it

would take to reverse that sort of situation.

– Yes, many women fear surgery and have a hard time getting their heads

around it – but, I think when the symptoms reach the point where your life

is being taken away from you -- it’s worth working that out with yourself

somehow – and worth the risks – in exchange for the chance to get your life

back. -- Not having been in that position, I’m not sure how you go about

getting yourself to that place, but perhaps other women here who’ve managed

it can offer some suggestions.

What’s a long recovery period compared to years of being restricted and in

pain?? - and another day of that for every day you put off dealing with it.

Think about being more restricted for a few weeks in return for getting

RID of the restsrictions you've had for YEARS -- being ENTIRELY rid of them

after you recover!!

REMINDER – AGAIN:

Only a couple more days to vote on meetup locations. San Francisco ladies –

we still need one more vote to make our meetup happen on April 17!!
