I really did a double take when I read FEMARA was being used in your fertility treatment. That's because until I read your post, I was familiar with Femara ONLY as a med used in breast cancer treatment of postmenopausal women. I did a little search, and yes, Femara is, in fact, used just like the more well-known (at least, to me) fertility drug " Clomid " , for the purpose of inducing ovulation. I gotta say, (to steal that old ny Carson line)----- " I did not know that! That is some weird, wild stuff. " Yup, I did not know that-- until I learned of it in 's post. However, I am unfortunately familiar with Femara as a drug in breast cancer treatment. My best friend was diagnosed last month with Stage IV Breast Cancer, her original breast cancer now metastasized to several major organs. She's undergoing chemo, but has taken Femara as an aromatease inhibitor that suppresses estrogen levels down, as I understand it, to...... zilch. AND for patients like , this same FEMARA helps women who are not ovulating. Such interesting " job descriptions " this Femara has, don't you think???....kinda like that old TV commercial " Certs is a breath mint!....Certs is a candy mint! Certs is two, two, two mints in one! " Femara, (like many other drugs, of course) is evidentally TWO drugs in one.... My only question for ....or any woman....but specifically for a FIBROIDAL WOMAN is well,....in my very, very superficial search, I read that FEMARA can " adversely affect the uterine lining and cervical mucous, " something that Clomid does not do. Wonder what that means.......dysplasia? or what? Anyone know? Anyway..... Buena Suerte, ! I really hope you conceive soon! -Roma
