Those of you living in or near NYC should not pass up the opportunity to join us at the Downtown Uptown Cafe Lounge, 1626 2nd Avenue, at 2 p.m. on Saturday. There will be two presentations by physicians: Dr. Stanley West from St. 's will discuss myomectomy surgery and Dr. Silberzwieg from St. Luke's will present information on uterine fibroid embolization. In addition, a wide range of educational materials will be available for distribution from the National Uterine Fibroids Foundation and Biosphere Medical. For a mere $20 (cash at the door, please!), food and beverage is provided for this event and all you have to do is show up and join in on the discussion! Did I mention there have been queries from other physicians in the community who would also like to check this meetup out? If you live in the vicinity and haven't invited YOUR gynecologist or interventional radiologist yet, why not do so today? The more information we can share, the better. Finally, WE NEED YOU THERE!!!!! In an effort to help promote Uterine Fibroids Meetups nationally, a film crew from ABC's 20/20 will be on hand to gather background footage for a wonderful piece they are doing on women with uterine fibroids. Don't be camera shy! We need you to participate in this event so that we can show women all across this country there are venues available to them for learning more about their fibroids, learning more about alternative treatments, and for getting woman-to-woman support they may desperately need.
