Guest guest
Here is link to a study underway at UC Berkeley re: effect of DIM on preventing breast cancer research: http://www.cbcrp.org/research/PageGrant.asp?grant_id=2064 I have to admit that I can't follow 100% the technical details, but am hoping that you, Carla, will comment on this as I know you've expressed concerns about DIM. Seems the study is measuring effect of DIM on an assortment of estrogen types. While this study is focused on breast cancer prevention, I wonder if positive results in reducing estrogen could translate into benefits for fibroid sufferers? Again - a big question, and not one that I am personally qualified to answer. My question is simply that - and not a conclusion that DIM should be used to treat fibroids. Though the research results were encouraging about DIM, I personally don't consider a study completed on 19 women to be statistically valid (as I deal with statistics for analytic model developments quite a bit in my line of work). ( Pat - note that subjects in the study were women from Marin County.) Anyway .... certainly makes for some interesting reading and thought.
