Jury hears tape of drug firm's agent offering deal to HMO

By , Globe Staff | May 12, 2004

Unaware they were being secretly recorded, two sales representatives

from TAP Pharmaceutical Products negotiated a " handshake " deal to give

Tufts Health Plan $65,000 in grants if it would switch from a rival's

cheaper drug back to TAP's prostate cancer-fighting drug.

Gee, $100/dose less for Zolodex vs. Lupron??? So, tell me again why

gyns are prescribing Lupron over anything else for bleeding/fibroids?

None of these lawsuits against TAP seem to be impacting their

marketing standing though -- or, even impacting their ability to

continue to sell this stuff for on AND off label uses. I wonder why not?
