Guest guest
Dawn, Here's my advice for what it's worth: #1. Don't panic. I'm sure that's hard when you're so uncomfortable and are suffering from symptoms that are affecting you daily - but - it's very important that you don't run into making any decisions about major surgery from panic mode. #2. I'd get that colonoscopy just to rule out there being anything else causing this problem. It can very easily be fibroid related but what good would a myo do you if it didn't cure this problem because it turned out to be unrelated!? you know? I would get it soon because you are so uncomfortable and you can't go in with all that toxic stuff not being released. That's very bad for you. #3. Are you on HRT? If so, there's your culprit. women with fibroids who are on HRT often have problems with their fibroids, they don't shrink and maybe even can grow. #4. If you find out through colonoscopy that there is nothing else going on and it is fibroid related, there may be things you can do about it. I had this problem, very, very constipated and bloated for most of the month, worse around my period. It was so bad it sent me to the doctor. That was around the time I was diagnosed. I couldn't see how without getting rid of the fibroid I could solve the problem but I was determined. I changed my diet, took certain gentle, herbal laxatives which are safe to take on a daily basis over time and other supplements and the problem went away totally and it's been gone for years. I never ever had problems with constipation before in my life prior to this and I knew it was hormonally related because at first it only happened at the start of my period and then it gradually got longer and longer until it was most of the month and I couldn't bear it. #5. Think about your diet - do you eat really well, really healthy, lots of fiber, drink 6-8 glasses of water per day,not a lot of junk, have you taken a lot of antibiotics that can mess up your intestinal balance? Do you get frequent yeast infections? These kinds of things affect what is happening in the bowel. It's essential you do something about this, but maybe running for a myo isn't what you need to do at this point.
