If you can, get to a reproductive endocrinologist for a second opinion. Your doctor telling you that you are too old to have any children and wanting to do a hysterectomy instead of a myo scares me a bit. It sounds like he is making a rash decision. If you feel comfortable with him then that is another story. But if you don't you owe it to yourself to seek another opinion. I am 40 now and had several fibroids removed via myomectomy late last year. My surgeon (an RE) and my OB both feel comfortable with me ttc. 38 is not too old!!!! I wish you the best. Keep us posted.
