Guest guest
Hi Elena, I got to believe that would be the fibroids. I had a " flat as a board " stomach until a few months ago, and then around the month of Jan. or so (coincidentally also for me, just as my fibroids were starting to act up) I noticed that my stomach was no longer flat. I still fit into my clothes, however, just around my period my stomach gets extremely swollen just like you described yours, starting from below the breast, I look pregnant, it's a challenge getting dressed!!!! in the past 6 months I have put on 5 lbs.. Can't wait to get these broids out! Marisa Fibroids...or just plain FAT? Did any of you have a similar bulge pre-myo, and did myo get rid of it????? Guest guest
Funny you should bring up this subject .... I'm not very big -- weigh between 108 and 110. HOWEVER, my belly is big from the fibroids, especially during my PMS time (that lasts about 10-12 days every month). My assumption is, since the fibroid is taking up all the room in my pelvic region, everything else gets pushed UP and so makes me look fat in the tummy/belly area even though I don't have an inch to pinch. It feels like there is a territorial war going on between my organs and I'm not sure who is winning and who is losing. Fortunately, on day three of my cycle my uterus shrinks down and I fit into my size 4 pants again. During PMS, I'm wearing size 6 or sometimes even 8. These days, I'm looking forward to getting my period ... I never thought I'd say those words ... Hannah
Guest guest
Hi Elana, I ask the same question..me personally, I think Its fibroids mixed with fat on my body. When I found out why my stomach was looking the way it did because of broids, I too just started eating away..I think Im an emotional eater anyway, so finding out about the fibroids just had the emotions going haywire. My doctor says that my fibroids are measuring at 17..which means this thing is making me look like Im 17 weeks pregnant, and yes it does start up under the breast area and just keeps on going. Unfortunately, I haven't had my surgery yet to really see if its the broids or fat...so I really can't give too much info just yet, surgery is scheduled for 6/30..so hopefully I'll be able to answer you question next week sometime. Guest guest
I'm thinking it's both! I'm no skinny woman, but I think the 'broids make me look pregnant for sure! I've had a waitress gasp and say, my goodness! When are you due?!? It was the gasp that hurt the most....and to make matters worse it was in front of my future in-laws. What do you say to people? No, it's just tumors? I know she felt terrible. Anyway, I'm tired of the bulge. I try to loose weight, but it seems harder to do since I've had fibroids. It's sticking to me like glue. I've read that abdominal fat stores estrogen and I bet the Fibroids like that so much they don't want to let go! good luck with your surgery, Elana. - In uterinefibroids , sonya jennings wrote: > My doctor says that my fibroids are measuring at 17..which means this thing is making me look like Im 17 weeks pregnant, and yes it does start up under the breast area and just keeps on going. Guest guest
Hannah, I'm about the same size as you (er, 106 to 108, depending) and I've had the same issue during my period -- it seems like there's no room left in my abdomen and I'm all rounded looking. (BTW, Had to chuckle at your comment about " not sure who's winning " .) Hopefully that will go away now that I've had the myo. We'll see... Guest guest
The same thing used to happen to me before I found out about the fibroids. everyone thought I was pregnant even my boyfriend. When i found out it was the fibroids he told me he was just waiting for me to tell him that I was pregnant. I even went to get my annual exam done and a FEMALE doctor even thought i was pregnant. She went as far as giving me a pregnancy test. But you are not going to believe that was as far as she went. When I found out about the fibroids about six months later months later, the dr. that found them said she probally wasn't thinking fibroids because of my age. I thought that was a poor excuse. anyway i just wanted to share that with you. -Delle
Guest guest
Okay, can some of you who have had UFE or myos reassure the rest of us that our tummies will return to their pre-fibroid flat (or semi- flat) state? Thanks!
