This would be my first child. I would finally be a mother at 34 years of age. I was ecstatic, yet nervous about this new phase in my life. The pregnancy had occurred despite the fact that I had been diagnosed as having mild endometriosis thirteen years before. To ensure that I did not have an ectopic pregnancy, a condition that sometimes presents itself with endometriosis, my doctor had me do an ultrasound. It showed that I was seven weeks pregnant and that my pregnancy was not ectopic. This was good news.
