The technician kept searching for a fetal heartbeat. At eight weeks pregnant, she had, once again, miscarried. It was her third miscarriage, the loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks. The year before, she'd had a stillbirth, a loss after 20 weeks. This time, the doctors had been watching her very closely. " I got out of that office, but couldn't make it to the car. I felt really weak. I sat on the curb and cried my head off, " remembers Kerr, a 41-year-old actor. " I thought, `How many kicks to the head are we supposed to take? Are we not supposed to be parents?'
