Guest guest
Hi All- Well, the search continues. The " hysterectomy " only doctors are history. Then I found one who said that, in spite of my very large fibroids, there was a 50/50 chance he could get them out with a laparscopic myo, which is so much better then having a traditional myo in terms of recovery, etc. What I don't like, is this 50/50 chance thing. It would mean a cut here, a cut there, a cut in my belly button and then he still might end up having to do a full incision. So, I am still seeking out if there is a qualified, very experienced doctor who feels confident that they can be removed laparscopically. However, I am checking in with all of you to find out if I am shooting for a fallen star. My question is what is that fine line between when the fibroids just can't be gotten out through a lap without it becoming too dangerous to even attempt? My fibroids are all over the place-way up to my belly button and way down toward my lower pelvic area. They are intramural, transmural and semi-subserol. And the largest is something like 14-16 cm. So, is having a lap a false hope for me and just another way of avoiding dealing with these and getting them myoed out with a full cut and the long post-op recovery? I am looking for the least invasive choice that gets the job done. What say you, oh knowledgeable ones? a
