Guest guest
Hi, I contacted Dr. West on his website, He does sound wonderful, from all the research I have done, he seems to be one of the few doctors who will not do a hysto. What I meant by out of pocket is that Dr. West is not a participating provider on my health plan, so, if I choose to see him, I would have to pay 40% of his fees (I don't know what they are) plus a $1,000.00 deductible until I reach a max. of $7,000.00 and then my insurance will cover the rest at 100%. So, for me, Dr. West's care will cost 7K , for that reason, I have an appointment with my RE which happens to be a participating provider on my plan and therefore will not have the financial burden, however, should he say something that I will not accept (like HYSTO) I will have to come up with the $ and see Dr. West. I also have a large uterus, 12cm is the largest, along with many others (fibroids) but I have lots of scar tissue due to a previous myo back in 1990 and 2 c-section births, and am a little apprehensive in regards to the myo, I am afraid that due to the scar tissue there will be a risk of damaging other organs while in surgery. I am thinking maybe UFE would be a good choice for me. May I ask, why did you say that it would not be a good choice for you? I mean the UFE. Thanks and sorry for the long post.
