Guest guest
Hi everybody: I just wanted to let the group know that my HMO insurance co. is going to sign on my old gyn doctor again effective 4-1-04. I had gone to a male gyn doctor who recommended I have a hysterectomy! Quite upsetting, since I have a totally benign condition of my uterus (2 fibroids, 1 2 cm submucosal and 1 3.4 cm subserosal). Anyway, I talked with my old female gyn doctors over the phone. She understands that I don't want a hysterectomy. I even asked her how many hysteroscopic resections she has done, say over 100. She had no problem whatsoever telling my she has done over 100 to date. I trust her. I will see her on April 8th. Then depending on her schedule, I'll have a hysteroscopic resection of 1 submucosal fibroid. I have peace of mind now. That old gyn doctor who wanted to remove my organ was not for me. (And I documented my wishes and practically told him he was crazy for wanting to even remove the organ - in a polite, diplomatic way). Just remember, trust your instincts. If you don't feel comfortable with doctors, go to someone else. Thanks. Jeanne
