Guest guest
- Caleb sounds a bit like my son .... although is now 6 months old (4 months adjusted). He started refusing the bottle at about 2 months (he started on the bottle since he was in the NICU for his first 5.5 weeks). I've since given up on pumping a bottle for him every day. It got too frustrating since I just ended up dumping it. The LC said to just try every once in a while and that he'll take it when he's ready. Or if it's much longer to just introduce the cup instead (must read more on how to do that...). I have bought every bottle they make. What a waste! And it's additionally difficult because since he's a preemie we don't take him out much. It means that when I run errands I have a very small 2 hour window before I have to race back home to feed him. Anyways, let me know if you find anything that works. also seemed to have reflux - he spit up a lot. Even when he was asleep (which worried me the most). But it waned quite a bit. Lately he's been spitting up again, but it still isn't like it used to be - so I think his system just needed maturing. Now our problem is constipation! He's only breastfed, his wet diapers are okay, and he doesn't seem to be distressed.... if it's not one thing it's another! Our little guy sure likes to keep us on our toes! UU DS, DOB July 4, 2005 > > Heidi, > > I am not sure how much Caleb eats per feeding. He refuses to take a bottle so I can't measure the oz. He has plenty of wet diapers, that's all I worry about. The doctor gave us zantac for the reflux which has worked very well. I do have a sleep support that is inclined for him and I fold a blanket up underneath it to give it a little more of an incline. When he had the stomach virus I had to feed him the pedialite through a medicine dropper. Even tried tricking him by taking off my shirt and placing him next to my breast, but that didn't work either. We tried so many different nipples it is riduculous. > > I don't usually bathe with Caleb, just put him the bathroom with me in his bouncy seat. I think the sound of the running water relaxes him, maybe the warmth and steam helps also. Not sure. But like I said before, he enjoys it, and allows me to relax a little, and take some of the aching muscles away. For the past 7 weeks I haven't not gotten more than a couple hours of sleep and it is really starting to catch up to me. Even to the point, I have an eye twitching from them being so tired. > > Got to go, hope today is better, > > Re: Re: update/heidi > > > > > > dear all, > > hi, im sorry i have not been replying to posts as > > things are crazy at chez thermenos. i will try to > > get > > back online more when i can. > > > > baby is still feeding every 2 hours at 6 wks old > > today- we are doing a combo of breastfeeding, > > pumping > > and supplementing which is CRAZY.
