Guest guest
Just to keep everyone updated~ I spoke with Louise Greenberg (the study co-ordinator today). She wanted to know if my life has improved since my focused ultra sound treatment in January. Here's what I told her: Benefits: Only up once at night to urinate. No more morning back pain. A bit more comfortable laying on stomach and able to receive a massage with less discomfort. (Very important to me Things that haven't improved: Occasional constipation & digestive distress ie...bloating and gas. Feeling of fullness in low abdomen. Still able to feel " melon-type " growth, hard and round when palpating abdomen while laying on my back. Not feeling sexy and having less sex with my husband. (Could be from other causes.) Sometimes not able to climax at all. Period comes every 21-24 days and lasts 8-9 days, with some clots. I am scheduled to have my 6 month follow up MRI at Brigham & Women's in July. Louise assured me that if I wanted to have a myo and not complete the study that would be fine. She told me Dr. performs many myos. I am considering this and will decide once I have the MRI in July. Meanwhile, one day at a time! ~ P.S. I plan to attend the upcoming fibroid gathering in Boston this Saturday. Re: climbing stairs after a myo...years ago when I had a c-section (with a vertical incision) I lived in a big victorian house and had to climb two flights of stairs to get to my baby. I had an intercom. No one told me not to climb stairs so I did. My incision broke open and had to be re-stitched. Not sure if my body rejected cat gut or whatever they used for stitching or whether it was climbing the stairs. Looking forward to meeting some of you east coast ladies. Bye for now~
