Surgeons learn big benefits of small incisions

A new surgical training lab at Texas Tech University Health Sciences

Center is helping to change the way future surgeries will be performed

on patients in the El Paso region, a department chairman at the

medical school said.

The 2-month-old, minimally invasive surgical system was applied

recently on two patients, said Dr. Bahij Nuwayhid, regional chairman

of obstetrics and gynecology.
