I have no idea if it is going to work for me either since I have so many fibroids, and they aren't small ones either. I hope things go smoothly. I really can't continue with the pain and bleeding that I have experienced this past year - two years. I just wasn't sure if it was time for me to have a hysterctomy because that is next on the list for me. *********** Sherrie, unless your doctor is going to do a hysteroscopic resection of your fibroids at the same time as he/she does the ablation, I personally would not have the ablation. Please confirm just what your doctor plans on doing. I know a number of doctors, including Indman in California, an excellent surgeon, are doing hysteroscopic resections/ablations together. I meet him at the Opening Doors event in Monterey last year and we discussed this. His feeling is just go ahead and do the resection and ablation right away. My personal feeling is different -- I would have the submucosal fibroids, the ones most likely responsible for the bleeding, removed first. Then I'd wait a couple months to see if the bleeding goes back to normal. If just removing the fibroids can get rid of the bleeding problem, then why subject yourself to a second procedure, with its attendant risks? And the ablation will do nothing to stop or slow the growth of the fibroids. They still can go on to cause all the other problems fibroids can create, like interferring with bowel and bladder function, causing back pain and painful intercourse, etc. This is my personal opinion.
