So if a Uterus was removed and ovaries left in you would not need HRT (hormone replacement therapy ) providing there was still good blood supply to the ovaries since they would still make hormones . Additionally not only would they make hormones a doctor told me if the uterus had to be removed the ovaries could be left and could still make eggs which could be harvested fertilized implanted and carried by a surrogate mother. Guest guest
I think that the answer to your question is that no one knows for whether or not the uterus itself produces hormones. There just hasn't been enough research on this. I have read that there is preliminary research that the uterus does either produce hormones or stimulate the ovaries in some way to produce hormones. I know that stistics show that women who have hysterectomies but keep their ovaries have their ovaries shut down at an earlier age on average than women with intact uteri. > > then > > be careful you may be trading 1 set of problems for a whole other!! > > I don't want my fibroid either, but would rather have a dead fibroid > > than no uterus and dealing with HRT for the rest of my life. > > > ANYONE PLEASE REPLY.....Correct me if I am wrong..... but ,the Uterus > does not make or secrete hormones but rather the ovaries do. > So if a Uterus was removed and ovaries left in you would not need HRT > (hormone replacement therapy ) providing there was still good > blood supply to the ovaries since they would still make hormones . > Additionally not only would they make hormones a doctor told me if the > uterus had to be removed the ovaries could be left and could still make > eggs which could be harvested > fertilized implanted and carried by a surrogate mother.
