Guest guest
Hi Jodi Your message does not show up straight away, it takes a little while I cant answer any of you concern as I'm 95% sure I dont want any kids but I have large fibroids and dont like the idea of my choice being taken away just incase I do change my mind. I'm 38 and my hubbvy is 34. Four years ago I had a brain tumour which I had a huge operation and some days I dont feel I could look after a baby Good luck
Guest guest
Well Jodi, don't feel bad about not getting responses. I have not received any to mine either. I don't know if your OB should have seen the fibroid or not but I would think you should talk to him about removing it. I was seeing a fertility specialist for almost 3 years and they never saw the uterine septum that my 2nd opinion DR found! If the fibroid is large enough to block both tubes, it would have an impact on conceiving and possibly on carrying if you did get pg. When you see him bring up the possibility of removing it and if he is not receptive, I would go for a 2nd opinion. Where are you located? Have you done IUIs or have you been ttc the " normal " way? Let us know how the appt goes! Keriann
Guest guest
Hi, You might seek out a good RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist). They can help with the fibroid and any fertility problems. They have more training (OBGYNs with more training). I was told by my RE that if your fibroid is changing the shape of your uterus (and especially blocking your tubes as in your case), then you're not going to get preggie. I think you should go to a RE and consider removing the fibroid. Also, hormones will make your fibroid grow during preganacy, if you could get preggie. The fibroid will win againt the baby. You can get preggie and can have a baby with fibroids in certain locations. But if they're invading your uterus and distorting it, you have problems. Many women here have had fibroids removed and went on to have a baby. Several also have lost babies due to fibroids. I'm not saying this to scare you but I think you need a very good doc. Tell the women here where you are (city, state) and they may be able to help you find a good RE in your area. I've received only 1 reply to my questions and I'm about to give up. Dh and I have been ttc for 14 months and I supposedly ovulate and his sperm are okay. I'm only 28 and had an HSG Monday. The doc (not my regular OB) said I had at least one fibroid, which was blocking both tubes, and is large enough to change the shape of my uterus and cause it to swell. From what I've read I'm a more rare case than most. I've never had symptoms or felt anything, I'm caucasian, I'm under 30, and I'm pretty thin and fit. I go in for an US this afternoon and to meet with my OB. One question I have is should my OB have found this sooner during a pelvic exam? Also, I asked my OB if I should finish the Estrogen for CD8-12 and he said I should. I asked if I should continue ttc and he said I should not use protection. I would think I should hold off and take care of the fibroid(s) first, but what do I know. I wonder if I need a new OB. I do not know what he is going to suggest after today, but I'm a very impatient person, and I do not want to take this slowly and watch and wait. I do not want to try to shrink the fibroid(s), I just want them (or it) removed or something to improve my infertility. I obviously don't know a whole lot about this, but what I do know right now is I want a baby. I realize I may be acting irrational right now, but I blame the hormones. LOL! Any suggestions or ideas or thoughts? I could use any help I can get. Thanks to everyone! I'm going to go back now and read the other posts, this seems like a busy forum. I hope I can get some answers. Jodi CD12
