Question re 1st period post-myo

Hi,

31 days after my last period and exactly 4 months post-myo --I got my

1st period today. I still don't know whether it will be lighter than

before as the heavy-duty days always used to come on day 2 or 3, and

not necessarily every month, but I got the most excruciating period

cramps this morning, and was groaning and doubling over w/ pain...It

only went away an hour or so after I took some pain killers and lay

in bed curled up in fetus position, massaging my stomach and crying.

This pain is something I didn't have before the operation (at least

haven't had one this bad for years!), so I'm wondering if the pain

was just due to the fact that my uterus is all stitched up and

probably not back into its original shape/size yet?

Has any of you post-myo ladies had intense pain when you got your

first period after the op, and if so, did it continue on at any

subsequent ones? I am just worried that I'll now have to battle with

pain in place of the heavy bleeding... :-( I really hope it's just a

one-off..?
