Guest guest
Hi Keriann, It definitely helps to get input from everyone, but you, of course, are the only one who can make the decision. I had an abdominal myomectomy 5 years ago to remove multiple large fibroids ( I had 15 in total!). I had hoped to try to conceive soon after that but wasn't married yet. So, 4 years later, my fibroids started to grow back and my husband and I got married soon after I found out. We TTC right after the wedding (so the fibroids didn't have a chance to grow too large) and were successful. The fact that you will TTC as soon as you are able after the myo is definitely on your side. Everyone's recovery is different with a myo. I had a pretty long recovery time (6 weeks before I really felt almost back to normal and more like 8 weeks before I truly felt I could resume normal activities). But the doctor told me that was because they had done such extensive cutting of my uterus that it would take longer to recover. Some women recover in 4 weeks and sometimes less. Good luck with your decision. --- Keriann Cwiak kcwiak@...> wrote: The reason I am here is I am trying to decide if I want to have this surgery (open abdomen) and what my chances are really for conceiving afterward.
